SUMMARY & OVERALL CHECK
Broadening the Playing Field is Your Ultimate Goal!
In the first half of the game, checkpoints are prepared at various spots, taking on the roles of barriers. You could say breaking through these checkpoints and broadening your playing field is the biggest goal as far as gameplay is concerned. Three good examples of checkpoints would be: the blockade on the Mother's Day bridges, the exit from Magicant and the big boulders on top of Thanksgiving's railroad tracks. The problem is figuring out how to get past them. And by the way, there are three melodies to get in the first half.

This town will be your base while adventuring around the area. Buy replacement weapons at the Dept. Store and power up.

Because the bridges east of town are closed off, you can't go on ahead to other areas. Undoing this blockade is your task.
Town Hall
Get asked to go into the cemetery in search of Pippi.
SOUTH CEMETERY
Rescue Pippi. If your conversation with her at the time goes well, you'll get the Franklin Badge.
Town Hall
Next, get handed the Zoo Key when you promise to calm down the disturbance at the zoo.
CHOUX CREAM ZOO
Face off with the Son of Starman in the curator's office. When you defeat him, peace returns to the Zoo, and the bridge blockade is lifted.
Monkey's Melody
MOTHER'S DAY NORTHEAST CAVE
Cross the bridge northeast of town and head for the cave. Warp from there to Magicant. As a prerequisite for warping, you'll need the Great-Grandfather's Diary.
MAGICANT
After gathering information and goods, converse with the Forgotten Man. Once the escape exit is open, pass through it to the surface.

THANKSGIVING SOUTH CAVE
Escape from Magicant and you'll be taken here.
Once the route to the station is open, your playing field expands massively in a single breath. Break that boulder!
THANKSGIVING
Go west for Mother's Day. Go north for Santa Claus Station. The tracks are blocked by giant boulders. Breaking the boulders and opening the route to the station is your checkpoint here.

Lloyd is on the rooftop of this school.
SWEET LITTLE FACTORY
Get a Pencil Rocket.
Tinkle Elementary School
Hand over the Pencil Rocket and Lloyd will join you.
DUNCAN'S FACTORY
Once Lloyd joins you head for the factory. CHECK the rocket there and launch it, and the boulders blocking the tracks will be destroyed.
