Site Navigation

Welcome to the Suburbs of Kenisu's Magicant!

Here you'll find a bunch of different projects I've done over the years! Here's the site navigation:

Encyclopedia MOTHER Translation (ongoing) -- In 1989, Shigesato Itoi's Famicom game MOTHER (which would later come to the U.S. under the title EarthBound Beginnings) made waves in Japan, and that same year his team also compiled together an amazing, lovingly-crafted guide book as a companion piece, expanding on the story and the characters with material not found in the context of the game. Here are my translations from the book!

DragonBall BGM Daizenshuu -- An episode-by-episode documentation of Shunsuke Kikuchi's musical score for DragonBall. Also includes the three movies and the two safety specials.

DragonBall Z BGM Daizenshuu -- Documenting the musical score from the Japanese version of DragonBall Z, again by Shunsuke Kikuchi, episode-by-episode.

DragonBall Z Movies BGM Daizenshuu -- Where the above link will take you to the cue sheets for the TV episodes, this will show you what music was used in the DragonBall Z movies (again, Japanese version). Also includes a rundown of the DBZ score's two TV recording sessions.

DB and DBZ BGM Overview -- A rundown of each Shunsuke Kikuchi cue from the DragonBall series as a whole. (This is not even close to finished, more like barely begun. So please know this as you go in.) Also includes the tracklist from the 5-CD Zenshuu set.

DragonBall GT BGM Daizenshuu -- A documentation of Akihito Tokunaga's score from the Japanese version of DragonBall GT. Also includes a documentation of the music from 1996's tenth-anniversary movie, "The Path to Ultimate Strength".

DragonBall Kai BGM Daizenshuu -- Most of DragonBall Kai is covered here -- that is, almost all of the Kenji Yamamoto-scored episodes and the first few episodes of the Norihito Sumitomo score.

Old, Outdated Encyclopedia MOTHER translations -- These are my older, less accurate (and less intelligible) Encyclopedia translations that started around 2006. Be warned: This is only a little bit of the book, and it's awful. I was very word-for-word back in the day and didn't have the greatest grasp on how to make Japanese meanings sound natural in English, so the prose came out wonky to the point of unintelligible at times.

Pokemon BGM Daizenshuu -- Documenting Shinji Miyazaki's score from the Japanese version of the Pokemon ("Pocket Monsters") anime, episode-by-episode, though currently only reaching a spot a few episodes shy of the end of the Orange Islands arc (and missing an eight-episode chunk in the middle of that arc, where I experimented with a different kind of chart, see link immediately below for that). This is currently *not* updated to include the Original Soundtrack Best releases from 2010-2011.

Pokemon BGM Daizenshuu: The Orange Islands experiment -- This is where you'll find the music information on episodes 97-104 of Pokemon, the missing Orange Islands episodes mentioned above. I was experimenting with a different type of chart for the episodes, as well as a darker theme for my site (leading to my use of white text instead of black, to stand out against the dark background) at the time, only to realize after eight episodes it wasn't working and switched back to the old format. Thus far I haven't gotten around to fixing these and putting them in with the main documentation.

DuckTales TV score cue sheets -- A documentation similar to the ones listed above, but for the classic DuckTales series from 1987, with its score penned by Ron Jones! This covers up to and including episode 75, the end of the Super DuckTales miniseries and where the DVD sets left off for years and years until Disney at last released Volume 4.

DuckTales: The last 25 episodes -- While unpolished, these charts finish up the BGM for the classic DuckTales episodes.

DuckTales BGM cue-by-cue breakdown -- An unfinished list of score cues from classic DuckTales.

About Me... or This Site, Rather -- This is mostly just a list of site updates over the years, being the front page of my old site.

Contact Me -- Exactly what it says on the tin.
